Board Certified

CHARLES M. NOTEBOOM has been Board Certified in personal injury trial law since 1983.

Only 2.2% of lawyers in Texas have been certified in this practice area.

All of the 79,409 attorneys in Texas are “fully licensed” in all areas of law, but only 1,768 (2.22%) are officially “certified“ specialists in personal injury trial law. If the attorney does not say that he/she is board certified, then there is a great probability that he/she is not certified. The Texas Board of Legal Specialization is the only organization that can certify Texas lawyers in a particular specialty. The Texas Supreme Court established this organization to help consumers identify lawyers with special competence and high ethical standards in various areas of law. It is difficult for attorneys to attain certification in an area of law. The requirements include a written examination, specific number of case tried in Court, and recommendations from other lawyers.
